An Annual Appeal

Our 70th anniversary season has been one of celebration and pride. Not many organizations achieve such a milestone and it encourages us as we chart the next 70 years.

Our season continues under the direction of Artistic Director Glen Cortese, who I encourage you to meet at the March 2024 Cabaret fundraiser, “The Golden Age of Broadway”. We will close this season with the May 2024 concert “A Musical Odyssey” featuring a new collaboration with the Catskill Choral Society, and welcoming back guest conductor Octavio Más-Arocas. Early 2024 will yield the announcement of the 2024-2025 CSO season – we have a few fun surprises in store.

We are reaching out to you because you have already demonstrated your support for the arts in our communities – ensuring our brilliant musicians are employed, our youth provided with worldly educational experiences, and filling our local stages with compositions and culture from around the globe.

Today, we embark on our annual year-end campaign to support our operations. We have one goal: to keep the music playing. Would you be willing to make a special year- end gift of $50, $100, $250 or more to continue our mission?

As only 30 percent of the CSO’s operating expenses are covered by ticket sales and sponsorships, your gift has an immediate and local impact (we shop and hire local!) Join us by making your gift online at www.catskillsymphony.org, by sending a check to P.O. Box 14, Oneonta, NY 13820, or speaking to us about how to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA account. Call us with any questions at 607-269-7501.

Like every note in a composition – here, every dollar makes a difference. As one student noted at our November education concert:

“...the concert was amazing, perfect, and couldn’t have been better in any way. As a student from high school, concerts like these spark my interest in the musical arts. Thanks again!”

Thank you for your continued support. Happy holidays!
