Cabaret FAQ’s

We’ve compiled some FAQ’s for you:

Where is the Cabaret?

SUNY Oneonta’s Alumni Field House Dewar Arena, 108 Ravine Parkway, Oneonta, NY 13820

We loved performing at Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center this fall, but this year’s Cabaret, as it has been many years before, is at SUNY Oneonta’s Alumni Field House (the college’s main athletic complex, which is near the college’s West Street entrance). You can also get to the Alumni Field House by entering campus via East Street and driving around the main road to the other side of campus.

When does the event start?

Doors open and silent auction is at 6 pm, concert is at 7 pm

Please arrive with ample time to find your table. Since you have your ticket, there’s no need to check in, simply head to the doors and an usher will take your ticket. Inside, you will see a chart with your name that indicates your table.

How long is the event?

Check-in is from 6 to 6:45 pm, and the concert begins promptly at 7 pm. The guest conductor competition will be from 7:30 to 8 pm, followed by a 20-minute intermission. Then it’s the second act featuring guest artist Jeremy Pelt and his Trio and then the quartet performing popular songs with the full symphony orchestra. The winner of the guest conductor competition will be announced at the end of the event, around 9:30 pm, and they will conduct the full CSO in “Stars and Stripes Forever.” Long story short, the concert is a little longer than two and a half hours.

Where can I park?

Parking is complimentary in the main parking lot at SUNY Oneonta Alumni Field House (gym level). Please allow ample time to find parking and check in to the event. Doors open at 6 pm

Do I need to wear a mask?

Masks are not required at this time, it is simply a personal preference and we welcome all who chose them.

Do I need to bring my ticket?

Yes! Without this ticket, you won't be able to bypass the check in and Will-Call line.

How will I know my table assignment?

We will give you your table assignment at check-in once you walk into the concert space. Names will be listed on a large display inside, and ushers also have your table numbers. Cabaret is assigned-seating by table. We have made the table assignments based on seating requests and first-come, first-served reservations.

Can my friends buy tickets at the door?

We will have a very limited number of tickets available at the door. We strongly encourage anyone who is planning to attend to reserve their ticket by the end of the day Friday. Phone reservations are closed, but people may still purchase tickets online on our website CatsillSymphony.org/cabaret, and are available at the Green Toad Bookstore until Saturday at Noon. If you want them to sit at your table - please reach out as soon as possible with their names!

Remember, students and two accompanying parents of minors can attend the concert for free, and they can get them at Will-Call OR you can request them in advance by name.

I’m a season subscriber, is Cabaret included?

It is, but you must reserve your spot. If you haven’t already reached out, please Email contact@catskillsymphony.org by March 15. We will have limited availability for those who do not make reservations on a first-come, first-served basis.

Will there be refreshments available?

Yes! There will be complimentary coffee stations throughout the evening and a fantastic dessert bar this year at intermission. Two cash bars will be available with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages and bottles of wine can be purchased to take to your table.

Will there be a Silent Auction?

Yes! Our popular silent auction is BACK! We have a list of wonderful items again this year, and will be sharing the details in advance the week before the concert on our website and social media platforms. Be prepared to bid away - all for the benefit of the Catskill Symphony Orchestra!

How can I vote for my favorite guest conductor candidate?

There are lots of ways to support your favorite candidate! One vote=$1. Voting closes at the end of intermission, which is set for 8:20 pm. Bring cash, checks, but we’ll have plenty of iPads to take your credit card donations for your favorite candidate.

  • Credit card: Scan the candidate’s QR code in your program or poster at the event (or support in advance by clicking on your candidate’s name on our website!)

  • Cash: Place your cash donations in the candidate’s basket near the silent auction any time between 6-8:20 pm; OR give cash to your candidate’s “bag people,” volunteers circulating the floor during intermission from 8-8:20 pm.

  • Check: Write the name of your candidate in the memo line of the check, made payable to “CSO”. Place your check donations in the candidate’s basket near the silent auction any time between 6-8:20 pm; OR give checks to your candidate’s “bag people,” volunteers circulating the floor during intermission from 8-8:20 pm.
